Windsurfing: The Dip-Felixstowe Wind Direction: ne Wind Stength: 15/20 Surf / Sea State: flat, surf and messy chop Air Temperature: 16 Sea Temperature: 13 Weather: sunny periods Max Speed: 25.67 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 54 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Top top day on the water from 12 to 6 and have arms like gorilla's !!! Got
to The Dip for breakfast at 10 and in no hurry to go out as the tide was
high and the sea was bumpy with a big break. As the car park filled and more
ventured out I went for 6.6 on the zantos and after negotiating the shore
dump headed to the river mouth as the chop was horrendous in the open sea.A
few blasts in the river but was underpowered and the direction and strong
out going tide not helping I returned to golf beach where the kiters launch
and spent ages playing in the surf pretenting to be a wave sailer !!! shame
it was'nt quite windy enough for my wave kit.Still the water was fairly
flat and gybing in the surf by the beach was great fun.I had it all to
myself (apart from a couple of kiters) until Darren sailed up to join in
the fun.I had another try in the flat water and realised I was still under
in the flat water so I sailed back to the dip for a quick snack rigged the
bigger sail (7.5) and took out the 90lt. Falcon which took the big sail
well.So a beat to the rivermouth again and some fun in the flatwater,no
great time as the tide, wind direction and strength not helping but am
starting to gybe the small board and had it all to myself as the other
windsurfers wont sail through the rough water at the mouth and are worried
about the shallow water, which is a shame as it's great fun!!!
Home knackered then fish and chips on the cliff top with Mag to end a top
day
